Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the launch of the Benha University Ambassadors Initiative for Sustainable Development and Climate for faculty members and their assistants at the university.
This initiative aims to promote the culture of sustainable development and adaptation to climate change to achieve leadership in sustainable development.
Prof. El-Gizawy indicated that the initiative targets building the capacities of faculty members and their assistants in the field of sustainable development, enabling them to become Benha University ambassadors for sustainable development and climate.
The aim is to disseminate the culture of sustainable development within the university and the surrounding community through a series of training courses and interactive practical field practices.
These will include topics such as development patterns, sustainable development goals, Egypt'
s Vision 2030, green and circular economies, and field initiatives as mechanisms to achieve sustainable development. Additionally, the initiative will cover governance, enabling policies for development, opportunities and challenges facing institutions in achieving comprehensive and equitable sustainable development goals, as well as the role of institutions in reaching these goals and understanding the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that the initiative consists of several cohorts for faculty members and their assistants from the university'
s colleges.
The first cohort (assistant lecturers) will be launched in November, with the following conditions for applicants: they must be assistant lecturers from the university'
s Faculties, have a motivation for voluntary work in the field of sustainable development and climate, and possess certain skills such as research ability, critical thinking, communication skills, leadership, team-building, and public speaking.
