Abstract:

The assessment of the value of InferiorVena eava diameter (IVC) and collapse Index (CI) by echography as a marker of hydratlon ststus was studies in 15 patients with chronic renal failure under regular haemodialysis. The sensitivity of IVC collapse indexwas 86.67%. on the other hand, the sensitivity of clinical picturewas 73.33%. Therefore, it could be concluded that IVC echography provides a simple non invasive tool useful in evaluation of hydraiion status in patients under regular haemodialysis.
