The effect of hepatic artery ligation
(HAL) after one day and one week on
intrahepatic biliary system ultrastructure
and ATPase activity has been
studied in the present work. The main
target was to answer two questions,
the first is hepatic artery blood flow
mandatory in maintaining the ultrastructure
of intrahepatic biliary system.
The second was, whether hepatic
artery ligation that has been used
clinically in the management of metastatic
or primary.neoplasm of liver has
an effect on the integrity of intrahepatic
biliary system. The results showed
that HAL have no effect on the ultrastructure
and ATPase activity, and
hence the function of biliary system.
So, the use of HAL in treatment of
nonrescectable liver tumors was safe on the biliary system of liver. |
