Abstract:

This work aimed to study the immunoglobulin levels of the saliva in patients with upper aero-digestve tract (LIAM7 carcinomas as an indicator of I n1 humoral immunity. Saliva was collected and by the use of Carlson cups the colostral IgA monomeric IgG and IgM were determined in the saliva of 34 pariPnts with UADT carcinomas. 19 patients with genitourinary carcinomas and 58 controls. There was statistically significant reduction in salivary IgA and rise of IgM in patients with UADT carcinomas as compared with the control group and patients with genito-urinary carcinomas. This denotes that the local immune mechanisms are disturbed in UADT carcinomas. This disturbance may have a role in the pathogenesis of these diseases and may be used as an early indicator for them.
