Balloon sphincterographY is one of the
important investigative modalities in assessing
the dynamicity of anorectal dysfunctions. The
present study was conducted to evaluate role of
balloon sphincterogram in assessing anal
incontinence & pelvirectal constipation. Our
series included 16 cases, classified into two
groups. Group 1 (5 patients) suffering from anal
incontinence and group II (11 patients)
suffering from pelvi-rectal constipation
(dyschezia).
Balloon sphincterogram done with some
modification in the technique to conduct with
the available equipments in Benha Radiology
department. The results and collected data from
this technique were tabulated and fully
discussed. We found that balloon
sphincterogram is of great value is assessing
Anorectal angle (ABA) & anal canal pressure
which are responsible for the anorectal
dysfunction in our patients |
