Sinuscopic and Histopathologic Examination of maxillary Sinuses in Cases of Primary Atrophic Rhinitis

Sinuscopy was performed in thirty patients with primary atrophic rhinitis proved by histopathologic examination. Three grades were identified. No atrophic changes were noted in maxillary sinus mucosa in grades I and H while in grade III impairment of ciliary function as well as atrophic changes in mucosa mostly close to the ostium which occasionally acquired marked patency were found.
