Different lines of surgical treatment are used for the treatment of maxillary
sinusitis. There still controversy as regards their efficiency . In this
work one hundred cases of chronic maxillary sinusitis were classified according
to the pathology revealed sinoscopically and radiologically into 2
main groups:
Group (a) : Sinuses with thickened oedematous mucosa .
Group(b) : Sinuses showing polypoidal changes.
In the first group it was found that middle meatal antrostomy alone
yeitded good resullts while in the second group (with polypoidal changes)
the best results were obtained when radical Caldwell - Luc's operation
associated with middle meatal antrostomy was carried out. |
