Abstract:

Nowadays Modern Mattresses are much used even in local markets. As they were made with wire springs in linked support basis, separated support basis (pocket), sponge or Medical materials (rebound or Latex). In past, this kind of modern mattresses was specially used by hotels and high-level persons only. Mattresses covers fabrics are produced on Jacquard looms or full Jacquard double jersey circular knitting machines. These two types of fabrics are competitive. Double Jersey knitted fabrics have a relative advantage as it has a soft and elastic feel and fluffiness which is specifying the knitted fabrics, which mostly add to knitted fabrics cottony appearance even cotton yarns are not used in fabric production. Though, studying of this kind of fabric has become very important to develop its properties as it gains a high ratio of produced fabrics for mattresses cover. The research is based on producing mattress fabric designs according to the following three experiments. First experiment (traditional production): We used polyester yarn of count 600 denier for laying in yarn, polyester yarn of count 150 denier colored for back, and spun polyester of count 30/1 Ne for face of Jacquard fabric design to produce mattress fabric with weight 275 g/m2 and 219 cm width for raw fabric after finishing. Second experiment (medium weight for meter square) We used polyester yarn count 600 denier for laying in yarn, polyester yarn count 150 denier colored for back and spun polyester count 30/1 Ne for face of Jacquard fabric design to produce mattress fabric has weight 345 gm/m2 and 219 cm width for row fabric after finishing. Third experiment We used polyester yarn of count 900 denier for laying in yarn, polyester yarn of count 150 paired with spandex yarn (lycra) of 40 denier colored for back, and spun polyester of count 30/1 Ne for face of Jacquard fabric design to produce mattress fabric has weight 504 g/m2 and 200 cm width only for raw fabric after finishing. The width is decreased as a result of using spandex yarn. The third experiment may achieve the objective of research as it gives the bulky effect (Kapitone) without doing additional process to make mattress cover having Kapitone.
