ABSTRACT
Objective: To access the safety and
efficacy outcomes of a new abdominal
cervico – sacropexy (CESA) and vagino – sacropexy with CESA and VASA
DynaMesh kit in treatment of pelvic
organ prolapse (POP).
Patients and Methods: Prospective
clinical study enrolled 10 women with
posthysterectomy apical prolapse in
Benha University Hospital Obstetrics
and Gynecology Department, 7 women
with vault prolapse while the other 3
women with apical prolapse with cervical stump. 7 women underwent VASA procedure while the other 3 underwent CESA procedure. ICS POP-Q
staging as well as surgery related morbidity were evaluated.
Results: All women were followed up
to 6 months postoperative. Significant
postsurgical anatomical success were
recorded across both POPQ anterior
(point Aa, Ba) (P 0.001, P 0.0001)
apical (point C, d) (P 0.0001, P
0.0001) and posterior (point Ap, Bp)
(P 0.0003, P 0.0005) domains. No
major complication were occurred. No
mesh erosion were reported.
Conclusion: Cervico – sacropexy and
vagino – sacropexy with CESA, VASA
DynaMesh kit seems to be safe and
effective option for women with advanced post hysterectomy apical prolapse. |
