Abstract:

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of orphanage home environment on health status among school age children. This study was a descriptive research design, for children in six orphanage home in Kalyubia and Giza governorates. The sample included 120 children, according to certain criteria of inclusion (school age 6-18 years). Three tools were used an: Interview questionnaire to assess socio-demographic characteristics of children, a physical observation checklist to assess health status of orphanage children, psychological assessment checklist to assess psychological problems of children, and observation checklist to assess home orphanage environment they were designed to collect data to assess the effect of orphanage home environment on health status of children.
