Abstract:

Orbital tumors are rare in equine species. Nothing concerning orbital tumors in donkeys was presented in the available literature. In this study, orbital tumors in two donkeys were presented. The first case involved retrobulbar fibrosarcoma which invaded the optic nerve and cause sever exophthalmos. The second case, orbital osteoclastomam was the first of this kind of bone tumor recorded for the equine orbit. The mass in the second case was excised through a new approach, transtemporal orbitotomy, which proved to be safe, noninvasive technique.
