  • Director, Project Management Unit for Educational Development, Ministry of Higher Education- Egypt, January 2013: a) Restructuring the project management unit to better serve its purpose and approving the new organization structure by the minister of higher education. b) Participating in the quarter-annual meeting for reviewing the strategic plan for higher education. c) Attending the parlimantry meeting to discuss the budget of the ministry of higher education. d) Attending meetings with minister of finance and minister of higher education to discuss the financial plan for the ministry of higher education e) Attending the supreme council of universities meetings with all Egyptian university rectors and minster of higher education. f) Chairing regular meetings with heads of quality assurance centers in governmental universities to monitor the accreditation activities. g) Organizing several meetings with the chancellor of the “national authority for quality assurance and accreditation of education” in Egypt. h) Participating in meetings chaired by the minister of higher education to discuss foreign investment in higher education in Egypt (the World Bank (attended by the MENA world bank representative) and Turkish private sector (attended by the Turksih ambasedor in Egypt)). i) Attended two conferences on behalf of his excellency the minister of higher education of Egypt 1. Making Global Connections: the E4E Solutions Marketplace 2013 April 25 & 26, 2013, Marrakech, Morocco 2. “Regional Seminar on Human Resources Management in Higher Education in the Southern Mediterranean countries”, 19 and 20 June 2013 in Nicosia (Cyprus).
  • Part time expert (Group leader) for Program of Continuous Improvement and Qualifying for Accreditation (PCIQA) for Egyptian universities, responsible of Cairo, Zagazig, Menia and Benha universities, June 2010 till October 2011 when I have been nominated as the first elected dean for the faculty of Engineering at Shoubra.
  • Consultant at ministry of higher education for supervising funded projects from the ministry to the universities for accreditation, March 2009 till Jan. 2010.
  • Consultant at ministry of higher education for Higher Educational Enhancement Project Fund (HEEPF), mainly responsible of monitoring the progress of projects funded from HEEPF for the development of undergraduate, post graduate courses and programs in Egyptian universities and transferring such courses to the E-learning format (World Bank Loan, March 2005 till 2009).
  • Consultant at ministry of higher education for developing institutions of technology. This includes developing a new curriculum, upgrading labs and writing up new educational materials (July 2005 till now).
  • Consultant at "Development & Performance Improvement Center" since 1998 till now, involved in training of structural engineers from Egypt and abroad through workshops such as “Analysis of Buildings Failure and Protection, Feb. 2003, Maintenance of Reinforced Concrete Buildings, June 2005,….etc.).
  • Consultant at ministry of higher education for monitoring committees for development of undergraduate engineering courses and upgrading engineering laboratories in the faculties of engineering at Cairo, Ain Shams, Zagazig and Menia universities (World Bank fund, 1995 till 1997).
  • Evalution of permeability and spill containment of Tank Farms and Tank Dikes, Max Area- Alexandria Governorate, Exon Mobil, December 2010.
  • Establishing the “Consulting Engineering Office for Design and Testing “, in partnership with Eng. Ayman Fawzy. Works of the office include being the structural consultant for Al Rawda Company for Real Estate Investments, Nahdet Masr Company for Printing and Publishing and Allam El Fan Records Company, (2002 till now).
  • Structural designer with NASR CONSULTANT & PARTNERS, helping generally in design of concrete structural buildings and especially in water structures and senior design engineer for several projects (May 1994-till now). An Arabic list of projects in carried out as part of the Nasr Consultants team is attached.
  • Structural design for reinforced concrete works in a cosmetics factory at 6 October city owned by Mr. Sayed Goada, 2001. Cost of works 2 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Structural design and consultant for the steel supporting system, the Glass Façade of VIP entrance (15m x 13 m) inclined face in the Media Production City at 6 October City, 1999-2000. Cost of works one million Egyptian pounds.
  • Structural designer of the reinforced concrete works of the cement storage silos in Damietta constructed by El-Fahad Company for cement, 1999. Cost of works 3.5 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Structural designer and consultant for reinforced concrete works at Kafr Tohormos telephone exchange center, 1998. Cost of works 2 million Egyptian pounds
  • Structural designer and consultant for reinforced concrete works at Saft-El-Laban telephone exchange center, 1998. Cost of works 1.5 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Supervising all grouting operations for machine bases, designing the concrete mix for the conveyor belt and supervising its construction for the steel rolling mill owned by the Sadat City Company for Steel at Sadat City, 1995-1999.
  • Establishing the “International Quality Center” (IQC) in partnership with a group Egyptian universities staff including: prof. Shrief Abo-El Magd (Helwan University), prof. Sameh Helal (Cairo University), prof. Sayed Adel Raoof (Ain Sams University), and Dr Hanaa El Sayad (Zagazig University). The center specialized in quality control work and constructions materials testing. Some of the projects undertaken by the center are shown in the attached list.
  • Structural design and supervision of construction works, strengthening and repair of damaged reinforced concrete buildings in ESSO petrol stations, Consultant Engineering Office "Dr. M. Salah Soliman", Nasr City, Cairo, 1993-1994.
  • Supervising and carrying out complete surveying work for a number of projects (e.g. Alam El Room Village, Matrouh (1985), Sheraton Heliopolis (1989), Hayyat Residence at Shrouk City (1995-1996), Kamal Ghoneim Factory at Abbasya (1999).
