Abstract:

This paper attempts to interpret Norman Sicilian Raids an Egyptian Tennees during the peaceful relations between Scilian Normans and Fatimid Ayobied Rulers . The main Concern of this paper extends not only to include the raids as event, rather it tackles how there raids affected the relations between both sides. It also uncovered why tennes is speclficaly chosen. The Study shows how Sicilian Norman became a strong European power amidst Mediterranean world. It also reveals its political ambitions within the context of western Crusades at that time. Hatred of Muslims too, and revenge attempts were also among reasons to be considered. However, they were fully admiring them the continuity of Islamic civilization along two Centuries supports its strength. The paper illustrates how personal motivations had a pivotal principal role in these raids, especially after the death of Roger II and the reign of his son William I who assumed to protect Christian communities in East, Also, he pretended to Secure the pilgrimage road for the holy land this reveals his intension as many citizen of Tennees were Christians. The role of Economical motivation can not be ignored also in this examination. Finally, other foreign powers interfere to turn peaceful relations between the two sides into enmity for their own interests.
