Course Description:
The postgraduate students to be prepared to understand food poisoning through dairy products. This will be achieved through: • Provide students with basic information about milk microbiology. • Enable students to understand the factors that influencing milk contamination and ways to control them. • Enable students to understand the source of milk contamination. • Provide knowledge about microbial growth and factors affecting them in milk. • Enable students to know the food poisoning microbs that could contaminate milk. • Provide students with basic information about difference between food infection and food intoxication. • Enable students to understand the symptoms and diagnosis of food poisoning cases. • Enable students to understand the newly emerged food poisoning threats. • Enhance the student educational experience about isolation of different food poisoning microbs from different dairy products. • Encourage students to suggest different control methods to prevent food poisoning from different sources. Provide information about how to report a food poisoning case.
