Course Description:
The course aims at addressing the following topics: nature of disease and insect resistance, mechanism of resistance, variability in different pathogen and insects, different breeding methods for disease and insect resistance, artificial infection with physiological races of different causal diseases, source of resistance, loss of resistance for disease and insects, and new aspects for breeding for disease including tissue culture, molecular genetics and genetical engineering.
