Course Description:
The course aims at introducing the Pre-calculus review. Sets. Real-valued function. The continuity and the differentiability of a real function. Techniques of differentiation. Derivatives of the trigonometric functions. Implicit differentiation. Linear approximations and differentials. Applications of the derivative: Extreme of functions, optimization problems, velocity and acceleration. Integrals: Indefinite integrals, change of variables, definite integrals, the fundamental theorem of calculus, numerical integration. Applications of definite integrals: Areas, solids of revolution, arc length and surfaces of revolution, work, moments and centers of mass. Transcendental functions: Derivative of inverse function, natural logarithm function, exponential functions, inverse trigonometric functions, hyperbolic and inverse hyperbolic functions, indeterminate forms and rule.
