Course Description:
The postgraduate students to be prepared to assure dairy microbiology. This will be achieved through: • Provide knowledge about microbial growth and factors affecting them in milk. • Enable students to know the microbs that could contaminate milk. • Provide students with basic information about milk microbiology. • Enable students to understand the microbial methods adopted in dairy farms to enhance clean milk production. • Enable students to understand the factors that influencing milk contamination at farm level and ways to control them. • Provide students with basic information about milk products microbiology. • Provide students basic information about spoilage microbs. • Enable students to understand the diseases that can be transmitted by dairy products consumption. • Enable students to understand food poisoning threats. • Enhance the student educational experience about isolation of different pathogenic and food spoilage microbs from different dairy products. • Encourage students to suggest different control methods to prevent food contamination from different sources. Provide information about control of microorganisms in milk and dairy products.
