and WW1 gic lesions. 17w aim of surgery is to establish proper drainage and areation of the
sinus cavity through a sphenoidotomy. This study included 20 patients who underwent endoscopic
sphenoidatomy ()kw or in conjunction with endoscopic sinus surgery of the oilier
sinuses. In 13 patients. surge; y was performed bilaterally and in 7 unilaterally. Postoperative
endoscopic evaluaiion revcidc,( patent sphenoidotomy in 30 cases (90.n.) and occluded
osthini in 3 cases (9%). The cavity was clear in 19 cases (515%) and the mucosa
wil‘ healthy in 18 eases (4.5%). It was concluded that endo.scopic sphenaidotomy is a
saje and direct plocedure with high potency rate ant/fairly good function. |
