This study was carried out on fourty one male Ex-sports group
and fifteen male sedentary as a control group aged from 35-45 years.
The exercise programmes including running, swimming, and handball,
the duration of such training was held from 3-4 P.M. Three time per
weak for 1 year. The clinical examination, blood pressure determination
and ECG tracings were done for each one of the studied groups. The laboratory
investigations including serum cholesterol, serum triglycerides
and post prandial blood sugar were carried out for each participants before
training after lmonth, 6 months and 1 year of physical training.
The exercise programmes resulted in a decrease in the prevalence of
chest pain, intermittent claudication. blood pressure values, basal pulse
rate, and ischaemic heart disease (1HD) ECG records. Also, serum cholesterol.
triglycerides and blood Sugar level were decreasing by duration
of physical training. It is recommended to do community health action
and education to encourage middle aged men to participate in such exercise
programmes and to provide more centers for such activities and recreations
which in turn increases production longivity and promote cardiovascular
health.
