Abstract:

C-Reactive protein (CRP} should be measured in all patients undergo ing coronary angtoplastyforprognostic stratification. Preprocedural levels are ofproved efficacy. CRP levels can be used as a guide to therapy in PCI. The aimofthis study is to evaluate thepredictive value ofCRPplasma levelfor coronary instent restenosis (ISR). This study included GO patients who underwent successful coronary stenting .Allpatients included in this study were subjected to thefollow ing: ' Full history taking, thorough clinical examination, riskfactors evalua tion, 12 leads surface ECG, plain chest x-ray echocardiography , cor onary angiography and laboratory investigations (Blood sugar level, lipidprofile and CRP)withfollowupperiodfor sixmonth. -Patients were classified into two groups according to ISR *Group (I) with ISR included 22 patients (43.1%) and 22 lesions treated with 25 stents (45%). •Group (II) without ISR included 29 patients (59.9%) with 29 lesions treated with 30 stents (55%;. -Atfollowup,focal ISR(<10mm) was detected in 5 patients (22.7%). diffuse (>10 mm) in 7patients (31.8%), proliferative ISR in 5 patients (22.7%) and total occlusion in 5patiients (22.7%;. -In restenotic group (I) 8patients (36.4%) were asymptomatic, two pa tients (9.1%) had unstable angina and 12 patients (54.5%) had stable angina.
