Thrombolytic therapy improves outcome in patients with acute myocardial
infarction but is still associated with an increased risk of haemorrhagic
complication. Calciuin channel blockers are also associated with a
comelication of intracerebral haemorrhage . So. the combined use of streptokinase
after prolonged use of calcium channel blockers in acute myocardial
infarction increased the frequency of these haemorrhagic complication.
The present study investigate the effect of combined use of streptokinase
after prolonged use of calcium channel blockeralone. streptokinase
alone, and combined use of each drug then comparing these with the control
group.
The result of the present work showed art increase in prothrombirt time
and partial thromboplastin time with streptokinase as well as the combined
group, but is more prominant in the combined drugs group . Also,
there are minimal haemorrhage and organ congestion presented more
with the combined group than streptokinase or diltiazem alone.
