an attempt to study the contribution of IL-6 in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD) and bronchial asthma, serum level of IL-6 was determined in thirty patients with AD, thirty patients with bronchial asthma and twenty healthy controls. The mean serum level of IL-6 was not significantly elevated in AD patients when compared to normal controls. However in severe cases it was found to be significantly elevated than normal controls. A positive correlation was found between IL-6 and severity of the disease. |
