Pancreaticoduodenal resection was performed in 8 patients including;
5 patients with carcinoma of the head of pancreas, 2 patients with ampuilanj
carcinoma of the common bile duct and one patient with retroperitoneal
hamartoma involving the head of pancreas.
Pancreaticogastrostomy was done for pancreaticoenteric reconstruction.
One postoperative death occured, (12.5%), pancreatic leakages were
seen in two cases which stoped spontaneously on conservative treatment,
(25%), and secondary haemorrhage together with pancreatic leakage developed
in one case which needed surgical intervention (12.5%). Four patients
(50%), passed the postoperative period vnevençfiuly. Mean hospital
stay was 16.1 rin ys. The subject is bretfly reviewed and the results were
discussed. |
