Forty thoracoscopic sympathectomies were performed in this research for palmer
hyperhydrosis and Raynaud's disease of 20 patients. Cervical sympathectomy being
minimally invasive, fast and safe with minimal morbidity, were done on each side in the same
sitting in 10 cases and in separate sitting for the other 10 cases. The results were
encouraging over open Technique with minimal recurrence. Short term postoperative
complications include: pneumothona 25%, compensatory hyperhydrosis 42.8% (/er case of
hyperhydosis), mild Homer 's in 10%, neuralgic pain in 40% and recurrent symptonts in case
of Raynaud's in very low percent (one cases out of 6 for Raynaud's) The patients were
satisfied with the result of operation for short hospital stay, cosmetic and favourable results. |
