In this study, plaque assay method was used to titrate
Sindbis, Chenuda, and Dhori viruses, which are present in
Egypt, in 3 different cell lines namely, CER, baby hamster
kidney (BHK-21) and African green monkey kidney (VERO) cell
lines, to evaluate the susceptibility and sensitivity &than
cells to the 3 studied viruses and also to compare the plaque
morphology produced by each virus on the 3 cell lines.
It was found that, the 3 studied viruses were well adapted
to grow in CER cell line, which was used in this study for
the first time, as well as HHIC-21 and VERO cells and repeated passages
of these viruses produced CPE, after a fixed post-inoculation
time. |
