Abstract:

Objective: To assess plasma and synovial fluid levels of soluble CD14 (sCD14) in Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and its association *to ESR, CRP, interleukin-6 (IL-6) and disease activity in an attempt to throw light on its possible role as an acute phase protein. Methods: This study included 35 patients with RA , 25 patients with osteoarthritis (OA) and ten apparently healthy subjects (as control groups). Serum and synovial fluid sCD14 and serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) were determined by ELISA. CRP and ESR were measured.
