Laparoscopic posterior truncal vagotomy and anterior Lesser curve seromyotomy
was performed in 16 patients including fifteen males and one
female with chronic duodenal ulcer. The intraoperative difficulties were
minor, postoperative shoulder pain occurred in four cases (15%). epigastric
pain in three patients (18.751) which lasted 1-2 days. Nausea and vomiting
happened to one patient (12.5%). mild haematemesis occurred in
one patient (12.5%). Hospital stay was two days in most of the cases, the
longest stay was four days (12.5%). Postoperative period passed uneventfully.
on followup fourteen (87.5%) had ulcer healed, one had duodenitis
(6.25%) and one patient still had unhealed active ulcer |
