Abstract:

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of adjunctive use of low-dose mitomycin-c during lacrimal probing for management of epiphora due to nasolacriml ducts obstruction. Method: Thirty patients (40 eyes) with NLDO were included in the study. Preoperative examination included jones I test, jones II test & tear film break up time test & contrast dacrocystography to confirm NLDO. selected patients were divided according to duration of epiphora into 4 groups; group1; duration of epiphora < 2 years. Group 2; 2-3 years. group 3; 3-4 years & group 4> years. All patients were treated with NLD probing with adjunctive low dose Mitomycin-c 0.2 mg/ml. they were followed up for 6 months & evaluated.
