To evaluate cases of pseudotumours of the orbit and the
suitable method for treatrnent. Patients and methods : Eleven cases
diagnosed clinically and radiologically and treated by corticosteriords
either systemically or by local perilesional injection. Complications and
rate of recurrences were monitored and the cases were followed at least
one year after last clinical improvements. Results : Were monitored both
clinically and radiologically. The local perilesional corticosteroids
injections was equally effective systemic route with less cununulative
dose of. corticosteriods and hence less systemic complications.
Conclusion : The local perilesional corticosteroids therapy is equally
effective and has less drawbacks than systemic steroid therapy in cases of
pseudotumours of the orbit. C.T. scan or MRI are mandatory for both
diagnosis and monitoring therapy of those cases. |
