Abstract:

to compare results of medial rectus (MR) Faden recession (FR) to MR augmented recession (AR) in management of large distant near disparity (DND) in convergence excess partially accommodative esotropia (ET) associated with high AC/A ratio. METHODS: prospective interventional study of 31 patients with convergence excess partially accommodative ET associated with high AC/A ratio. Patients were divided into two groups. Group FR which contains 15 patients who were treated by bimedial Faden recession and Group AR which contains16 patients who underwent augmented medial rectus recession based on angle of near deviation. Surgical success was defined as distant and near ET 5 10 PD with shrinkage of high AC/A ratio and high DND.
