Abstract:

(Ducts media with effusion (OMB) causes hearing loss and morbidity in many children, many theories seek to explain production and presistance ofilluid in the middle ear, but no single mechanism is solely responsible. _from these factors is the presistant bacterial antigen and impaired middle ear immunity. In this study 150 patients diagnosed as having OME divided into two equal groups. 1st group (grotipA) received medical treatment and 2nd group (B) prepared directly to surgery (Myringotomy and ventilation tube insertion), cases with failed medical treatment (An) group from group (A) were subjected to the same surgery. From group (B) and group (An) (surgical groups) effusion were collected for culture and antigen detection. Bacterial growth nearly 52% of group (B) and positive bacterial antigen detected in (An) and (8) groups was 46.9 - 49.3% respectively.
