A widespread use of mobile phones evokes a growing concern for thqir possible adverse effects on the
human central nervous system. This study was aimed at evaluating the effects of maternal exposure to
electromagnetic fields (EMFs) generated by mobile phones, on the neonatal auditory brainstem-evoked
responses (ABR) during and after the exposure. This is a clinical-controlled trial conducted in Benha
university hospital and private practice. 60 women with uncomplicated pregnancies aged from 18 to 33
years and their full term healthy newborn infants were included The effects of acute maternal exposttie to
EMEs emitted by mobile telephone during a telephone conversation for 10 minutes after birth on neonatal
AN? were evaluated in Group 1 (30 full term healthy newborns of 30 women who regularly used to use
mobile phones seer birth) versus Control group 11(30 full term healthy newborn of 30 women who not
