Project Objectives :-
The broad objective of the project is to introduce least cost and environmentally positive integrated pest management to raise the productivity of economic crops and increase benefits of both producers, and consumers.
The project would develop new target-oriented environmentally compatible pesticide formulations and their application methods; promote biological pest control; develop guidelines for an economic use of these methods in order to enable sustainable producation of contaminant-free yield; and disseminate the project findings through workshops, and training including on-the-job and formal training of staff and some other stakeholders "post-graduate students and farmers". The specific subjects of research are three major pests plant parasitic nematodes, snails and phytophagous mites.
