Summary of Research
The present study seeks to reveal the aesthetic relationship of Chinese metal jewelry to determine its influence on achieving aesthetic relationships.
To this end the research hypotheses, objectives, and results have been arranged in the following order:
Chapter one: "Research subject" it includes research background, problem, hypotheses, importance, methodology, related literature, limitations, and key words
Chapter tow : " myths, faiths, economic and environmental conditions affecting the formation of Chinese metal jewelry" this chapter includes a glimpse on the definition of a myth, the most famous Chinese myths, myth relevance to the metal jewels, study of religious faith in china, most prominent faiths in china, role of faith in the Chinese art, the Chinese environment (i.e.) natural surroundings, location, resources, social and economic conditions prevailing in china, customs and traditions existing in china, celebrations, festivals observed moreover, this chapter Chinese culture, the Chinese opera popular artwork in metal work the chapter concludes with the symbolic significance of Chinese symbols depicting the meaning of a symbol, its significance organizing these into tables of famous Chinese symbols.
Chapter three: "Chinese civilization during the period from 17th to 20th century, its influence on the Chinese metal jewelry from the aesthetic and plastic perspective". This chapter looks at first : cultural background during the period preceding the 17th century, starting from the ancient Stone Age up to the emergence of ruling dynasties paving the way to the old palaces in china as of (chia) family (2205B.C) to (Ming) dynasty in ( 1368 – 1644 A.D ) further, this chapter also examines the period from the 17th century to the 20th century showing the impact of cultural background on events during this period, how other civilizations led to the emergence of Chinese metal work as factors like commerce, Buddhism, the exchange of visits, political influences, and the Islamic conquests played a crucial role in that regard contributing to the Chinese development .
Chapter four : " Analytical descriptive study of Chinese metal jewelry collections" this chapter analytically and descriptively examines selections of the Chinese metal jewelry varying in terms of plastic structure, materials used, and plastic treatment during the period from the 17th to the 20th century . Such review enables the researcher to determine character tics and nature of such jewels artistically and technically, using numerous art references along with history books related to the hereditary Chinese metal jewelry. The study also utilized the internet.
Chapter five: "Experimental practices on combining raised and engraved plastic art, hammering and bending wire, as well as metal plates ". Here the researcher presents self experiment, showing tools used along with materials based on two field visits to military factory 63 in Helwan and Shinouda Broth mill, touring workshop and viewing methods used, demonstrating practices, techniques and tools employed to generate various plastic vocabulary related to Chinese metal jewelry. The investigation covered three aspects: one deals with wire, metal plates, or both along with supplementary techniques.
Chapter six: "Research Applications". This chapter starts with outlining the main objective of practical applications, the materials utilized, the shape of any of the materials used, type, techniques employed, tools suitable for performing the task appropriately, demonstration of the self practical applications, analysis of such applications, implementations carried out by the researcher with the research sample comprised of senior students from the qualitative education college – Banha university. The researcher then categorized and classified the self applications of her own making along with those of students participant in the experiment into three groups as follows: a group based on metal wire formation only, another one based on metal plates formations only, the third group is based on combined plastic formations. This chapter concludes with the most important results and recommendation made by the researcher as a consequence of the present research besides writing a list of Arabic and foreign references as well as the Internet sources utilized (e.g. Information network used by the researcher to obtain the data needed for conducting the present research ).
