Abstract:

This work presents a methodology to develop the mathematical model for predicting the ultimate tensile strength(UTS), yield strength (YS),elongation (El%), hardness(VH) and corrosion rate(CR) of Al 2024 aluminum alloy. The welds were created by varying the rotational speed from 485,1000 and 1800 rpm ,material thickness 2,3 and 4 mm and the travel speed from 10,16 and 31.5 mm/min. Using Response surface methodology (RSM) to improve the mathematical model suggestion. The improve mathematical model can be used effectively at 95% confidence level. The influence of FSW process parameter on mechanical properties of 2024 aluminum alloy has been analyzed in detail
