This study was carried out on 500 admitted cases to Benha Fever Hospital during three months to study the types and geographic distribution of admitted cases. The results showed that the majority of admitted cases were rural cases 80.4% . Food borne diseases and droplet infections were the most common infections diseases represented by 44.6% and 37.8 respectively. About 56% of them were below 10 years and most common diseases were gastro-enteritis, tetanus and meningitis constituting 87.3%, 87.1% and 83.3 of total cases in different age groups respectively. Males (70.7%) were highly susceptible than females (29.3%) in that age group. Urban cases (85.7%) had a duration of illness before admission < one week while in rural it was 41.5% . The high case fatality rates 59.7%, and 16.7 and 9.1% were observed in tetanus, meningitis and gastro-enteritis. The lowest 2.3% was among those suffering from respiratory infections. The present work calculates some indices about bed utilization such as, average length of hospital stay was 6 days, bed occupancy rate 90% and bed turn over rate 13.6.
