Abstract: |
The objective of this work is to study the influence of larval density on some aspects of the population ecology and survival of Chrysomya megacephala, analyzing demographic aspects of adults kept under experimental conditions. positive effect of density on survival and pre-ovipostion period was observed, while there was no simultaneous influence of density in sex ratio. The results showed that the demographic parameter for life expectancy at intrinsic growth rate (e0), total fecundity (TF), net fecundity (NF) and men reproductive age (T) increased with increasing the density of population larvae. Other population parameters such as the intrinsic growth rate (r), the finite growth rate (λ) and the time to double population (DT) were also calculated. |
