Argus persicus was infesting examined chickens in percentage of 25, 16 and 80 of layers, fattening and house chicken flocks respectively. Staph. aureus was detected in collected ticks in high percentage. Ticks attached to chicken infected with Staph. aureus acquired the infection within 6 hours. Such infected ticks could transmite the infection to healthy chicken within 3 hours post attachment. Staph. aureus could be recovered till after 28 days from infected ticks which kept under suitable conditions at room temperature (22oC± 2oC) and 80% relative humidity (R.H.). Staph. aureus in Argus persicus was resistant to Asunto1. The public health importance of Staph. aureus was dealt with as well as suggestive corltrol measures. |
