Infertility is one of the most stressful conditions for any one to deal with in life, it also one of the threatening factor that affect the stability of marital status. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is the most sophisticated form of infertility treatment. It has been used for over 25 years and in this period of time it has evolved to a relatively simple and very successful treatment option. The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of protocol of care on the outcome of patient undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF). The study conducted at Assisted Reproductive Technology Unite of Benha University hospital and ELshrok center in benha. The sample included 60 women undergoing in-vitro fertilization with primary infertility and free from any medical diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. The tools of data collection were structured demographic sheet, knowledge questionnaire sheet for pre test and post test. The result showed that most women's who are included in the study had poor knowledge about infertility and IVF process which may negatively affect their outcome of IVF. The study recommended that develop a training program for the nurse who deals with infertile couple to promote pschycological status which may affect outcome of IVF, IVF protocol included in the curriculum of undergraduate student nurse, an educating program for infertile couple about ART and its steps should be given before starting treatment, further studies are still needed to assess the stressor and coping level in each stage of IVF procedure and their effects |
