Oedematous skin disease is clinically suspected in animals byinflammation of the lymph nodes and subuctaneous nodules. Properdiagnosis is made by bacterial culturing from the lesions. But the disease .has many similarities with other diseases which can’t be easily diagnosedin the field. The control of this disease depends upon rapid, easy andefficient diagnostic aids.Allergic and serological methods are still in need for studies beforebeing recommended as a routine diagnostic tests for diagnosis of thisdisease. In this study, diangostic studies in infected animals (guinea pigsand buffaloes) and B.C.G. vaccinated guinea pigs, were made by differentskin tests including uses of the two prepared corynebacterium allergen (1)”extracted protein” and corynebacterium allergen (2) ”sonicated cells” aswell as immunodiffusion test.Corynebacterium allergen (1) was prepared by precipitation ofprotein using trichloroacetic acid (Langenegger et al., 1987). Whilecorynebacterium allergen (2) was prepared by sonication of the wholecells according to (Brown et al., 1986a).These corynebacterium allergens (1) and (2) were tested forsterility and biologically standardized in 25 guinea pigs (20 sensitized and5 non sensitized control animals) in first and 2nd weeks post sensitization. |
