Abstract:

The effect of some chemotherapeutics, on the course of acute toxoplasmosis in experimentally infected mice was studied. Obtained results showed that, praziquantel, levamisole had no effect on acute toxoplasmosis, while trimethoprime phamethoxazol and clindamycine showed some prophylactic effect on acute toxoplasmosis in mice. INTRODUCTON Toxoplasma gondii is a widely distributed zoonotic infection with different manifestations. Extensive animal experimentation were preformed to obtain the effective antitoxoplasma agents (El Rifaie, 1974, Harper, 1985). It is’ of value to throw some light on the effect of some chemotherapeutic agents of different pharmacological actions on the course of acute toxoplasmosis in mice MATERIAL AND METHODS Albino swiss mice, 6 - 8 weeks old (about 20 gm each) were divided into six groups (ten mice each). Praziquantel
