Seasonal abundance of 18 species of the genus Aphytis Howard(( Hymenoptera : Aphelinidae )from Egypt were observed on ten host plant infested with eleven armoured scale insect species ( diaspidas )in seven governorate between 1997 and 2000. results indicate that some species ( e.g Aphytis holoxanthus DeBach , Aphytis melinus DeBach and A. paramaculicornis DeBach & Rosen) had effective rates of rantii and parlatoria oleae (clovee) , respectively. this groups was followed by aphtis chrysompajli (mercet), aphtis lingnanensis , Aphytis diaspidids (howard) , aphytis libanicus traboulsi and A.phoenicis DeBach & Rosen with maximum parasitism rates of 59.2 , 57.0 , 41.4 , 43.2 , 29.3 , 28.6 and 20.4 , respectively .The rest of studied aphytis species maximum parasitism rates were between 0.8 and 14.6%.
