Work environment is the totality of all factors that influence satisfaction and performance of the job. The least common denominator of the environment for staff nurses in hospitals is the clinical unit. The aim of the study was to assess the effect of an educational program about organizational features of work environment on staff nurses performance at Benha University Hospitals. The study was conducted at general medical units at Benha University Hospital. The subjects included all available staff nurses who worked in the mentioned units at the time of study, consisted of 70 staff nurse. Tools used for data collection were structured. First, the ward organizational features scale (WOFS). This questionnaire contained 95 items subdivided under six main categories. Second, staff nurses performance observation checklist. It consisted of 34 items categorized under four main headings. The study findings showed there was a positive statistically significant correlation between total knowledge and performance scores at different times of assessment. The study recommended that workshops and seminars should be held to raise staff nurses' awareness about organizational feature of work environment that help to improve their performance level. Provision of instructional booklets for staff nurse's about organizational feature of work environment to improve their level of knowledge, which should be updated continuously.
