The current study aimed to identify the psychometric properties of an Achievement Motivation Scale for primary school pupils with learning disabilities. The study sample consisted of (32) male and female primary school pupils with learning disabilities from Al-Rahman Al-Rahim School in Qalyubia Governorate. The scale consists of five main dimensions: persistence and perseverance, competition and challenge, responsibility, desire to enjoy performing tasks proficiently, and self-confidence. The study instruments included the Achievement Motivation Scale, developed by the researcher. A set of appropriate statistical procedures was employed to verify the validity and reliability of the scale.
The results of the study revealed strong indicators of internal consistency, validity, and reliability, demonstrating the scale's suitability for use in the school environment and confirming its validity for measuring achievement motivation among pupils in this population accurately and objectively. The findings also indicate that the scale can be relied upon in diagnostic and follow-up procedures, as well as in evaluating educational and intervention programs designed for pupils with learning disabilities.
The researcher concluded that enhancing achievement motivation represents a fundamental factor in improving academic performance and creating a stimulating educational environment for these pupils. Accordingly, the researcher recommends conducting further studies aimed at developing achievement motivation through innovative teaching strategies and effective counseling programs. The researcher also recommends administering the scale to larger and more diverse samples to further verify its validity across different educational stages and various educational contexts.
