Abstract:

The Egyptian textile industry is considered one of the most important pillars of the Egyptian economy, but in light of the successive crises that have hit this industry over the past decade, it began to collapse. Hence the research idea appears from using supply chain management (SCM) as a real and immediate solution to can skip these crises. So, the research aimed to investigate the impact of improving supply chain management (SCM) for the Egyptian textile companies to achieve business excellence (BE). The study population consists of companies related to holding company for cotton, textile and weaving whose number is 32 companies. The sample of the study includes, MISR for textile and weaving and EL-NASR for textile, weaving and dying in EL-Mahalla EL-kobra whose employees reached (23136). Based on the large sample size the researcher has adopted the simple random sampling method to determine the unit of sampling and analyzing the managers, their assistants, heads of departments and employees with (290) respondents. To achieve the objective of the study, the descriptive analytical method was used. Also, applied method was used for data collection, analysis and test hypotheses through a questionnaire of (59) statements, which was used as a key tool for gathering information about study variables. A number of statistical tools and methods were used such as: Reliability Analysis, Mean, Standard Deviation, Relative weight, Frequency distribution, percentage, T-Test, Chi-Square Test & ANOVA test. After the analysis, the study reached to number of results; the most important of all that: There is a positive effect for applying supply chain quality management SCQM practices (top management support, human resource management (HRM), strategic supplier, internal integration, information sharing, quality of information and customer focus) on the Egyptian Textile companies, to achieve business excellence (BE) (improve quality, waste minimization and maximize productivity). The study recommended that the way for improving SCM is using QM. So, the Egyptian textile companies should move from SCM concept to (SCQM) because SCM as a concept has a lot of inadequacies, so that these companies can solve their problems and cope with the intensity of foreign hyper competition.
