Abstract:

This paper studies the bond between masonry and different strengthening materials. The study is divided into two main parts: the first one is setting up an experimental program for a number of masonry specimens strengthened using near surface mounted different strengthening materials such as: steel bars of different grades, CFRP strips,GFRP strips, then determination of the mode of failure for each one. the second part isstudying them numerically by making numerical modeling using (ANSYS.15) program. Comparing the experimental and the numerical results, discussion and recommendations are presented in the paper
