Abstract:

In this paper the effect of the instant at which the three-phase induction motor is connected to a single-phase supply on the maximum and minimum instantaneous values of the transient current and torque is investigated. The variation of the current peaks and the angle of switching changes is obtained. Also, on contrary to the case in which the three-phase induction motor is connected to a 3-phase supply, it was derived that the maximum and minimum values of the transient torque are affected by the instant of switching.
