Abstract:

The traditional method of pretreatment is padding the cotton materials in bath, contains “sodium alginate, urea, sodium carbonate and other auxiliaries. This step takes a long time and needs another place for pretreatment. The disadvantage of this step. Inflexible and the storage of pretreatment fabrics caused damage of fabrics under action of sodium carbonate, bacteria and other chemicals, beside difficulties of washing process. In this study a new technique of pretreatment was used. An open screen was applied to obtain a film in only one surface of he fabrics containing the different chemicals, which were used in the traditional process. To control the thickness of the film, many different meshes screen were used. The new technique affords the following advantages: printing different types of fabrics in on stage, no damage happens under the effect of storage of traditional process, reduce the cost and the time easy washing process after printing and fixation. The new technique, which was applied, proved increase in the K/S of the prints by 37.5% from the traditional method. Keywords: Ink jet - Pre treatment – New technique – Cotton fabric
