Abstract:

The aim of this study was to assess maternal management of children with nephrotic syndrome and their quality of life. This study was a descriptive research design . It was conducted at Benha university hospital and children specialized hospital. sample A convenient sample of all children with NS and their mothers were recruited the previously mentioned setting during the period of 6 months (from October 2009 to March 2010) with the total Number of 100 . Two tools were used to collect the required data. First include stractured interview schedule to assess maternal management of children with nephrotic syndrome and the second one to assess their quality of life . The results of this study revealed that mean age of the mothers was 20.7 ±0.256 years while mean age of the children was 4.85 ± 0.868 years and the majority of the mothers had deficit knowledge and incompetent in their practice of their children suffering from nephrotic syndrome. and 71% was male and their age between (4-6 years) .
