Two field experiments were conducted to study the effect of irrigation intervals (without irrigation, 7, 14 and 21 days) and nitrogen levels (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg N/fad.) on growth characters, yield components, yield and chemical composition of sunflower (Hellanthus annus, L.) var. Playak. Irrigation every 14 days significantly effect increased all characters studied. Application of nitrogen at 60 kg N/fad. increased significantly, plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, head diameter, weight of head, weight of 100—seed, seed yleld/plant seed yield ton/fad. as well as oil yield kg/fad. but oil content was significantly decreased. The highest seed yield of sunflower could be actieved by applying 60 kg N/fad. to the soil and/or irrigation every 14 days. |
